ADOPTED!

Meet Holly! She is a sweet four-year-old female chocolate Labrador Retriever. Holly was surrendered to WCLRR when her owner had to move and couldn’t take her. Holly is a tall, strong dog at around 90 lbs.

Holly loves to be with her people. She enjoys being with her family, getting pets, and belly rubs. Holly greets people nicely and doesn’t’ try to jump on them. However, she does forget her size when she gets super excited and sometimes runs into things.

Holly is a medium-energy dog. She is curious about balls and toys but doesn’t seem accustomed to playing. Holly has shown some interest in toys in a basket in her foster home but doesn’t play or chew on them. For example, she notices a bounced ball but doesn’t try to catch it. However, she does like to chew on Nylabones.

Holly knows to sit, stay, and come. Holly is a quick learner! She understood that she needed to use the doggy door on the first day at her foster, and she has not had any accidents in her foster home.

Holly’ talks’ to get her family’s attention, especially when she thinks it’s getting close to dinner time! She does bark when she hears unfamiliar noises like a lawn mower, people talking, trucks, etc. But, she corrects quickly, and as she becomes accustomed to her foster home and the everyday noises, she is barking less.

Holly is not crate trained, and she loves dog beds! She sleeps on a dog bed or the wood floor in her foster’s bedroom. She waits for her people to get up and start their day together in the morning.

Holly lives with labs and a Maltese mix, and they get along very well. She is also living with a cat and two tortoises. Holly is very gentle with the cat and doesn’t bother it. However, she barks at the tortoises when they move, likely because they look like moving rocks to her!

Holly’s ideal home would be with an active family with a large yard where she can run, play, or nap in the sunshine! She would enjoy living with older kids that will play with her and give her the love and attention she wants. A home with other pets would be perfect. Holly is very social. She gets along with other animals and would enjoy having one or more dogs to play with!

Holly is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, and is microchipped.
