Meet Kobe! He is an adorable three to four-year-old Labrador/Golden Retriever pup surrendered to the rescue because his owners could no longer give him the required care.
Kobe is eager to please and wants all your attention and love. He has been learning a lot at his foster parent’s home, such as playing and being a dog, learning his house manners. Kobe was strictly an outside dog at his former home.
Kobe is working on his housebreaking and doing great. He learned the doggy door immediately. However, any new dog could have an accident in their new home while learning the new routine.
Kobe didn’t know how to play with other dogs when he arrived at his foster home. He is currently fostered with two female Labradors and is learning how to play and be part of a pack. He has also learned that you need to eat your food, or else your foster siblings will eat it for you!
Kobe is a passive, sweet boy who needs a patient forever family to teach him proper manners. He is a counter surfer, so watch out, but responds well to positive reinforcement. All counters and tables need to be kept clear of items that could harm or potentially kill a dog. ALL medicine, cleaning products, food, eyeglasses, remotes, and cell phones should always be kept out of his reach.
Kobe is great with kids over eight and other dogs, but he prefers his people. He would be great with a family with no dogs or other passive dogs. Kobe loves his walks and is excellent for people who are somewhat active and patient.
Kobe gets startled by loud noises and sudden quick movements, but once he feels safe, he is perfect. Kobe has not attempted to go swimming at his foster home and is slowly learning how to fetch. He is on the mellow side for a dog his age and is perfectly happy watching you work or simply being with you.
Kobe has been neutered, is current on his shots, microchipped has a flea treatment, and now ready to start looking for his forever home.
If you have as semi-quiet home and willing to allow Kobe to come out of his shell, that would be preferred. He will shower you with kisses and love.
