ADOPTED!

Meet Parker! He is a handsome, energetic, 2-year-old male yellow Labrador Retriever. Parker is full of energy and would love another young playmate. He loves to spend his day outdoors playing chase, tug-o-war, exploring the yard, and lying in the sun with his canine foster sisters.

Parker tends to play a bit rough (typical Labrador play) and can be mouthy, something his foster sister enjoys but maybe not all playmates. After a morning/afternoon of play, he comes inside to nap on the couch.

Parker is quite affectionate, loves attention, and likes to lay close to his foster sister or foster mom while he naps. He is an intelligent and observant boy! He watches his foster sisters and learns from them quite quickly.

Parker knows his name and basic commands such as sit, stay, and is eager to learn more. He travels well in a car is also good on a leash. Parker is a gentle boy, but he will need some work taking his treats a bit more gently. Parker is extremely food motivated and LOVES to eat. His new family needs to help him not eat his meals too quickly, possibly using a “slow feed” bowl.

Parker sleeps thru the night on his doggy bed next to his foster family’s bed. He especially likes his bed positioned to see his foster mom. Parker has an excellent internal clock and is usually up and ready to go outdoors to play by 6:30 am and is ready for bed by 7:00 pm. Parker’s new family needs to ensure he gets the appropriate exercise to expel some of his energy. Parker is housetrained and has used the doggy door from day one at his foster family’s home with no accidents.

Parker does bark to alert his foster parents if someone comes to the house or if he needs to go outside. He also barks to let the other dogs he wants to play. In addition, Parker may jump and nibble when excited. Because of his size, we will not recommend him for families with children under 12 years old. His new family needs to work on this behavior and consult with a trainer.

Parker would like a family that is home most of the time and one that will not leave him alone for extended periods. He craves and deserves the love and security of a “furever” home. We also believe a home with another high to medium energy large dog will suit him as he enjoys playing and being part of the pack. Parker is a very affectionate pup and loves to cuddle and be petted. Parker sleeps all night in a dog bed next to his foster mom.

Parker has been neutered, up-to-date on his vaccines, and microchipped.
