ADOPTED!

Meet Brad! He is a sweet, laid-back male black Labrador Retriever, approximately five years old. Brad was surrendered to WCLRR when his family realized their young child was allergic to him. Brad is a happy guy, especially when he’s getting attention, and his tail is ALWAYS wagging!

Brad is a mellow boy, happy to hang out with his people. He is good in the yard. Brad is not a runner nor a fence jumper. He’s calm meeting people and keeps all four paws on the floor, although when he gets excited, he does occasionally jump. Brad shows no interest in jumping on furniture or beds. However, he is delighted to lie at your feet and is pleased if he can lie on the floor next to you with his head in your lap, getting ear rubs or belly rubs!

Brad is fine with other dogs, but he wants to take his time meeting them. His foster has a young, energetic black lab, and while Brad gets on with the other dog, he occasionally finds the puppy exuberance a little annoying and will issue a warning to the pup. Brad can be a bit nervous when meeting other dogs and sometimes bark at them but is fine once meeting them. His ideal home would be as an only dog or with a dog as calm and laid back as he is.

Brad likes car rides to have his head out the window to catch all the exciting sights and smells. Brad enjoys walks, although he does pull, especially at the start of the walk because he’s so excited to be out and seeing the world! Brad is learning about fetch, and he loves playing tug and chewing on his rope toy.

Brad is house-trained and will stand by the door to let his family know he needs to go out. He did have one accident in the house when he first arrived, but since then has been a very good boy about asking to go outside. However, his adopters need to take him out frequently until he gets used to their home. Brad is crate trained and sleeps well at night, getting up when his people do.

Brad has not been tested with cats. However, he hasn’t shown a strong prey drive, so that he may be okay with a mellow feline.

Brad is neutered, is current on his vaccines, and is microchipped.
