ADOPTED!

Meet Sophie! She is a sweet female yellow Labrador Retriever sixteen months old.  Unfortunately, during Covid, her owner could not take her places or expose her to many experiences; therefore, Sophie is a timid young Labrador.

Sophie tends to want to attach herself to a person in the home. Her foster mom says Sophie is a Velcro dog and seems to prefer women. She will follow her everywhere and looks for her when she is not in sight.  Her foster family is working on her becoming more friendly to other people, including men.  Sophie was in a previous foster home were several other dogs and a male in the house, and she loved being with them.

Sophie will need a home that understands her insecurities will provide her time and patience to adjust. In addition, Sophie needs a calm and quieter home where someone will be home most of the time.  We do not believe a home with young children is a good fit for her.

Sophie was recently taken on a camping trip with her foster family and enjoyed the new adventure.  She was friendly to everyone, loved sitting on the step in her foster family’s pool, and played fetch.  Sophie can be very playful after she has relaxed and is not scared.

Sophie is housebroken and learned the doggie door at her foster home.   She also loves to cuddle with her foster mom.

Sophie knows some basic commands but will need additional training. For example, she pulls and weaves on her walks.

Sophie would love to be in a home with other dogs to play with and help her be more secure and confident.

Sophie is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and microchipped.
