ADOPTED!

Meet Preston! He is a handsome two-year-old (approximately) male chocolate Labrador Retriever.  WCLRR rescued Preston from a high kill shelter because his family never went there to claimed him.

Preston is a little timid; he will need time to come out of his shell and warm up to his new family.  Preston is currently fostered with another male Labrador Retriever, loves to hang out with him, and learned the ropes at his foster home.

Preston has recently discovered the pool, and his foster has officially given him the title of “A Water Dog.” It would be nice if his new family had a swimming pool or could take him to the beach or anywhere there is water on occasion.

Preston currently sleeps soundly in his crate all night. Preston is also working on his housebreaking. He is doing exceptionally well. However, his new family needs to continue reinforcing his routine and understanding his signs for going outside.

Preston loves going on walks and does well on a leash. However, some additional leash training would be helpful to teach him not to zigzag and the occasional pulling.  He would also benefit from some basic obedience training.

Preston has terrific potential requires strong leadership, experience with the mind/attitude of a shy pup, and patience as he settles and adjusts to his new environment and “furever” home.

Preston is sweet and affectionate once he trusts his people. He also is friendly to other dogs. Having another friendly dog in the home would also help him become more confident and secure.

Preston loves to chew; his new home must have an abundance of appropriate chew toys such as Nylabones and Kongs.

Preston is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and microchipped.
