ADOPTED!

Meet Sarge! He is a beautiful large chocolate male English Labrador Retriever approximately 1-2 years old. Sarge is an English lab with big bear paws, an otter tail, and a big blocky head. Sarge came to WCLRR from less than ideal living conditions and has blossomed in the short time he has been with his foster family.

Sarge arrived as a timid boy weighing in at 118 pounds, overweight and out of shape. However, after a few weeks of being loved and cared for, he has already shed 14 pounds! A good diet has helped him lose weight. His new family needs to continue this so he can get down to a good healthy weight. Sarge loves playing with his three foster siblings. He enjoys walking and swimming.

Sarge was never socialized with people or exposed to loud noises, which still frighten him, but he is getting better. He now loves meeting new people and playing with other dogs.  He discovered his foster family’s swimming pool and is a natural swimmer. We want to find a family with other active dogs and a swimming pool.

Sarge was never walked on a leash, but he is learning. He does not pull and will be a great walking buddy with a bit of training due to his size and strength. He is excellent on long car rides but needs some assistance getting in and out since this is not something he was ever exposed to in the past.

Sarge is a special dog and deserves a loving home to receive lots of care and attention. However, his new home needs to take things slowly with him in the beginning. Sarge will need time to adjust to his new surroundings, but he will provide so much love and joy to his new family once he does.

Sarge is housebroken; however, any rescue dog will need to establish a routine, and he could have an accident while adjusting. He currently prefers to sleep on the floor near his foster buddies.

Sarge is neutered and up to date on his vaccines and microchipped.
