ADOPTED!

Meet Bailey! He is a five-year-old yellow male Labrador Retriever. He is also a total love bug and an actual “velcro dog.” Bailey gets very attached to his person but is happy to meet new people and greets them nicely. His tail never stops wagging! He will follow you wherever you go and will be someone’s best friend for life.

Bailey was recently neutered. His foster family has two female dogs, and Bailey is VERY attracted to them. This behavior will probably continue for a while but should subside.  We don’t know how he would be with cats. Therefore, we will not be able to place Bailey in a home with cats. We cannot recommend Bailey for a family with young children because he is entirely unaware of his size and could easily knock you over.

Bailey is pretty good on the leash, but he might need additional training and corrections with most dogs. Bailey is very receptive to training. He is a big boy, so counter surfing is very easy for him, and he will need some work on that. His new home will need to make sure that items are removed from counters.  He is housebroken and has had no accidents at his fosters. Bailey knows to sit and shake, especially when a treat is present. He is working on down and stay, which is going well when treats are in hand.

Bailey is very playful, loves extra-rugged chew toys, and loves the ball like a true retriever. We would not recommend soft stuffed toys for Bailey because he will destroy them in no time, and the stuffing is dangerous if ingested.  Bailey LOVES laying on his dog bed. He sleeps with no problem through the night and snores adorably.

Bailey would love an active family that will continue to work on his training and provide him with exercise and playtimes. We believe Bailey would love to go on long hikes and outings. Bailey seemed curious about the pool. He went in on the top step. Since he is recovering from his neuter surgery, his foster has not let him go in the pool.

Bailey is a good boy and so easy to love. Not to mention he is so handsome!  Bailey needs a family who will continue his training.

Bailey has recently been neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and microchipped.
