ADOPTED!

Meet Rita! She is a lovely 11-month-old female Labrador Retriever mix. Rita was surrendered to WCLRR because her family decided that she deserved more due to their work schedules. Rita was left outside ALL of the time. She never slept inside a house or got to spend time with her family in the home. Rita is now sleeping in a comfy dog bed. She will never sleep outside again!

Rita has been the perfect house guest at her foster parent’s home. Her Labbie foster sisters have taught her manners to do well in any loving home environment. She is intelligent and a quick learner.

Rita knows how to use the doggie door and has never had an accident inside. Initially, she tugged while on the leash but now will walk briskly and sit with direction at the corner before crossing the street. Rita will get excited when seeing another dog but redirects quickly. It took a while for her to get used to car rides, but now she is the perfect passenger.

Rita is still a puppy and needs a yard to run and play in. She would do well with another dog so they can play together. Rita loves to chase the ball and will bring it right back to you. She needs toys, including chew toys, when she has to be alone for a short while.

Rita wants to jump on you and people meeting her but corrects quickly with reminding. Due to her high energy level, she would reasonably do better in a house with children over eight years old.

Rita loves to give kisses, sit in your lap, and snuggle with you at bedtime. She is an amazingly attentive girl who follows you about anywhere or settles in nicely when it’s time to relax.

Rita sleeps through the night. She is not food aggressive. She is tall and loves to see what’s on your counter but knows it’s not okay and will correct it with a simple “No.”

Rita is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and microchipped.
