ADOPTED!

Meet Charlie! He is a sweet, mellow five ½-year-old yellow male Labrador Retriever. Charlie was surrendered to WCLRR because his family moved to a location that Charlie was unable to go.

Charlie loves kids and adults and is quite happy to hang out with you while watching television or a sunset! He is very affectionate and likes belly rubs. Charlie was raised with another lab and is good with other dogs, both large and small. He would enjoy being in a home with another dog with a similar laid back personality. He has not been around cats. Charlie is a happy guy, and his tail is always wagging!

Charlie is housetrained, and crate trained and hasn’t had any accidents in the house while he’s been with his foster. He responds to his name and knows “sit” and “give me paw.” In his foster home, he sleeps on a dog bed in the bedroom. He has several dog beds around the house and a large crate in the living room that is available for the occasional nap.

Charlie is good on a leash, although he does get excited when he sees other dogs and would benefit from someone that could help him learn to approach dogs calmly. He is the goodwill ambassador on walks, saying hello and asking for ear rubs from everyone he meets!

Charlie didn’t seem to have had much exposure to stairs or different vehicle types, so his new family will need to work with him to learn to be comfortable with new things. He’s not much into tennis balls (fetch is a one-way game) or toys but has become attached to a few small toys in the foster’s home. He doesn’t jump onto furniture or beds, although he will put his paws up and get as much of his body close to you as he can in the hopes that you’ll pull him up so he can be next to you. Charlie hasn’t shown signs of being a counter surfer, but it is something that his new family should keep an eye on.

Charlie loves to be with his people and will follow you around the house, lying down wherever you are. He wants to be close to you. We believe Charlie is a wonderful all-around boy who deserves the very best. We think he would like a home where someone is there most of the time.

Charlie has been neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines.
