Meet Dexter! He is a handsome male Labrador Retriever approximately three years old. Dexter was surrendered to WCLRR when his family had a change of employment. They acknowledged he should have a better living situation than they could provide.

Dexter is excellent in the house; he is completely housebroken and has never had an accident in his foster home. He also loves walks, and he enjoys people and other dogs along the way.

Dexter hasn’t shown a real interest in toys, and he has explored his foster pool by putting his feet in and standing on the stair though he hasn’t ventured into actually swimming pool yet.

Dexter would love a home or person who will include him in their daily activities. He loves his people and may show a little protectiveness by letting out a couple of barks to alert you when someone is coming.

Dexter is overweight because his former family had him self feeding; they would fill a bowl to the top, and he’d eat all day. Labradors cannot be free-fed. His new family should keep him on a strict diet to shed some of these extra pounds.

Dexter is neutered, up to date on his shots, and microchipped.

COVID-19 Update: WCLRR is continuing to accept applications for adoptions, scheduling virtual home interviews, and accepting owner surrenders. Please contact if you have any questions.
